Anthony Spears-

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Is a young producer in training along with being an actor.  He moved to Austin, Texas in two thousand eight. Here he decided to join Austin Film Meet and become its social media manager. He goes to their meeting and helps setup events with the help of H. Cherdon Bedford, Denise Becker, and many other Austin Film Meet members. In two thousand ten he decided to start his own online film company called “Nickel Star Films.” He decided in two thousand eleven that he was going to create his first web series “Hangin With a Cholo.” He created and completed the first season of this show as a learning tool for his future projects. He is now working on new web series and helping Austin Film Meet gain more popularity through the online social media realm.

Eric Swink-

 

 

 

 

Eric Swink is a proud artist and story teller.  He is the owner and creator of ES Arts. He enjoys painting and the occasional acting once in a while. He is a very talented individual who help create the show known as “The MR. Philosophy Show.” His ideas span from Biker culture to punk rock to modern day Anarchist. We are proud to have him here at Nickel Star Films and look forward to making future episodes of “The Mr. Philosophy Show,” with him.

Steven Spates-

 

 

 

 

 

From 1984 to 1996 Steven Spates was a special events DJ in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From 1985 1987 he played the character of “Emperor Lorenzo  Flecture 1st,” on  a show called “The World Wrestling Magazine.” From 1987 to 1989 Steven Spates was an on air DJ for WPLW AM Pittsburgh, PA. In 1997 to 1999 Steven worked with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as a tour guide for “The Great Movie Ride,” at the Disney MGM studios. He was a character and character escort at the Magic Kingdom. He also did a number and meet and greets as well as V.I.P hosting for various event throughout the Orlando area. From 1999 to 2000 he work for “Front Row Promotions,” where he promoted the MBMA credit card at the Orlando Magic games as well as the “Nashville Kats arena football league.” He work with “Momentum Marketing,” out of St. Louis, MO to introduce the central Flordia market to Go-gurt yogurt in 1999.  From 2003 t0 2006 hosted an unscripted tourism show called “KeyStone Xtra,” that air on Fox 8 TV out of Johnstown, PA. He also Associate Producer and marketer of the documentary “The life and Times of Punxtwney Phill” which aired in various markets such as Pittsburgh, PA and Los Angeles, CA. Did a promotional video for UMI Performance in 2006. Also did a promotional video for Delaware Motors, 2006 and then 2006 he has done various speaking engagements for such causes in the Jefferson County Free Medical to assist those who can not afford health care. He moved to Austin, TX in August of 2011 where he met Anthony Spears at Austin Film Meet where they started to collaborate on his new web series “The Political Wrestler,” with the main character “Beach Boy Rad.” He is now working as an independent contractor for promotional events.

Has worked with Nickel Star Films on a few productions. He’s been an actor for “Hangin With a Cholo” episode eight “Bully.” He played the Robber character who beats up Armando Mundez and eats his stolen peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He worked on “Hangin With a Cholo,” episode ten “Hangover” as our camera man helping setup each shoot and getting the tone just right. Justin enjoys films, sports and being in the company of beautiful women. We have been very fortunate to work with this talented man and  hope sometime in the future to work with him again.

Creative Superhero at Humblebee Media

For as long as she’s been, Creative Superhero H.Cherdon has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for the creative arts. Her art and literature, stories and poems, have won her numerous awards and gained her national attention, especially for the children’s picture books she both writes and illustrates. Also a talented stage performer, she has appeared in more than 40 stage productions, two performing arts touring troupes, several short films and a few PSAs. Her producer powers include organization, presentation, big-picture perspective, unforgettable memory and maybe even a little obsessive-compulsive behavior sometimes. Driven and self-motivated, Cherdon excels as as artist, director, photographer, web designer, writer, actress, illustrator, producer, bookmaker, entrepreneur… and creative superhero. As the Executive Director for the Austin Film Meet, Cherdon reaches out to fellow filmmakers and artists. She thrives as a “handyman” for creative challenges, a real-life Creative Superhero for hire, using love and creativity to touch lives and projects. Heather Halstead-

 

 

 

Heather has recently helped us on a shoot for “Hangin With a Cholo,” project. You can find here pictures here on this site. She is a photographer and filmmaker located in Austin Texas, and working in Austin, San Antonio, and any where in between. Along with working on her own projects, She is always looking for other films, photo shoots and creative works to be a part of.
